Privacy policy

What JutuGo collects, why we need it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and the rights you hold over all of it.

Version 2.0Effective 12 September 2026Contact privacy@jutugo.com
The short version. We collect what is needed to run tournaments honestly: your account details, your entry, and a record of what you voted on and watched. Your entry and your display name are public. Your contact details and payout details never are. We do not sell data to anyone.

1. Who we are

JutuGo operates jutugo.com and is the data fiduciary for the personal data described here. Where a third-party host runs a tournament, that host also processes entry data for that tournament, bounded by section 5.

Reach us at privacy@jutugo.com or through the contact link in the footer of any page.

2. What we collect

CategoryWhat it includes
Account dataDisplay name, contact details used to verify the account, password credentials, and the date the account was created.
Verification dataConfirmation that a verification check passed, and the identifier it was tied to.
Entry dataThe photo or video you upload, its metadata including capture date, the tournament it was entered in, and any caption or title.
Activity dataRatings, votes, which entries you viewed, and for video tournaments, how long you watched each one.
Integrity dataIP address, device and browser fingerprint, and timestamps for entries and votes. Used solely for fraud detection.
Payout dataBank or payment details and tax identifiers, collected only when a prize is due.
Support dataMessages you send us, reports you file, and our replies.

We do not collect location beyond what an IP address implies, we do not read your device's contacts or photo library beyond the file you choose to upload, and we do not track you across other websites.

3. Why we use it

  • To run tournaments. Publishing entries, calculating scores, producing standings and results.
  • To keep results honest. Integrity data exists to detect duplicate accounts, vote farming and fake watch time. Without it the one-account rule is unenforceable.
  • To pay winners and meet tax and record-keeping obligations that attach to prize money.
  • To support you and handle reports, appeals and disputes.
  • To promote the platform, within the licence you grant in the Terms of entry and subject to your sharing choices.
  • To meet legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests and reporting where the law requires it.

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

4. What is public

Public

Your display name or handle, your profile picture if you set one, your entries and their scores, and your position in standings.

Never public

Your contact details, verification identifiers, payout and tax details, IP address, device data, and which entries you voted on or watched.

Individual votes are never attributed publicly. Aggregate counts are shown; who cast them is not, including to hosts.

5. Who else sees it

  • Tournament hosts see entries in their own tournament, the display name attached to each, and the review queue. They do not see contact details, payout details, integrity data or individual votes, and they may use what they see only to run that tournament unless you separately agree otherwise.
  • Payment processors receive what is needed to transfer a prize to you.
  • Infrastructure providers host our systems under contract and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose, or where disclosure is necessary to protect someone from serious harm. Child safety reports are escalated as described in the Child safety policy.

We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Social media sharing

The top three finishers in every tournament are featured on JutuGo's social channels. For video tournaments, all verified entries may be shared on our channels on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, together with your display name.

  • You can opt out at upload, with no effect on eligibility or score.
  • You can ask for a post to be removed at any time, and we will delete our own post, normally within 7 days.
  • Once public, copies made by others are outside our control.
  • Kids tournament entries are never shared externally, under any circumstances.

Content posted to an external platform is then also subject to that platform's own privacy terms, which we do not control.

7. How long we keep it

DataRetention
Account dataWhile your account is open, then 30 days after deletion.
EntriesPublic for the round plus 30 days. Top-three entries stay on the results page. Removed on request at any time.
Votes and ratingsAggregated into results permanently; the link to your account is removed 12 months after the round ends.
Integrity data12 months, then deleted. Long enough to investigate a pattern across rounds.
Payout and tax recordsAs long as tax and accounting law requires, typically 8 years. These survive account deletion.
Support messages24 months.

8. Your rights

You can exercise any of these from account settings or by writing to privacy@jutugo.com. We respond within 30 days and never charge for it.

  • Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — fix anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure — delete your account and personal data, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Withdraw consent — including opting out of social sharing after the fact.
  • Nominate — appoint someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to.
  • Complain — to us first, and then to the relevant data protection authority.
One limit worth stating plainly. Deleting your account does not retrospectively erase a published tournament result. Standings are a public record and other entrants relied on them. Your entry comes down and your name is removed from the entry; the result itself stands.

9. Children's data

Children do not hold JutuGo accounts. In kids tournaments, a parent or guardian enters on a child's behalf from their own verified account and consent is recorded at upload.

  • Only a first name is ever shown publicly. No surname, school, location, age or contact detail.
  • Drawing entries show only the artwork.
  • Entries are never shared to external platforms and comments and direct messages are disabled on them.
  • A guardian can withdraw at any time, including after results, with immediate effect.
  • We do not profile children, do not use their data for marketing, and do not surface their entries in any algorithmic recommendation.

Full detail in the Child safety policy.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to personal data inside JutuGo is restricted to staff who need it for a specific task and is logged. Payout details are held with our payment processor rather than in our own systems.

If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires, and tell you what happened and what to do about it.

11. Cookies

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in and keep your session secure. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
  • Integrity cookies support fraud detection by helping recognise a device across sessions.
  • Analytics cookies tell us which pages are used and where people get stuck. Optional, and off until you accept them.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

12. Changes

We will post any change here and update the version and date at the top. Material changes are notified on your account at least 14 days before they take effect.

13. Complaints

Write to privacy@jutugo.com and we will acknowledge within 72 hours and resolve within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can escalate to the data protection authority in your jurisdiction. Nothing here removes that right.
